Helping Users Make Everyday Decisions
Recruit Institute of Technology (RIT) opened its Mountain View, California lab in April, 2016. Our mission is to conduct top-notch research and build technologies that impact the services of Recruit Holdings, a company that runs over 200 online consumer lifestyle services. We conduct research in the broad areas of Artificial Intelligence and Data Management.
BigGorilla is an open-source data integration and data preparation ecosystem (currently in Python) to enable data scientists to perform integration and analysis of data. BigGorilla brings decades of research on data integration into an open-source platform with the goal of accelerating progress in the field and adoption of its techniques.
We are developing natural language processing techniques to improve the understanding of queries that users pose to vertical search engines and the textual content these engines store. We are working on extending the capabilities of vertical search engines through conversational interfaces.
We are developing a conversational agent that enables users to log their happy experiences, extract insights from these experiences, and ultimately helps users carry out actions that increase their happiness. More broadly, our goal is to develop novel Artificial Intelligence techniques that build on the results of the Science of Happiness from psychology, and result in technologies that make people happier.
One of the challenges data-rich enterprises face is that they cannot easily leverage many of their data assets because members of the organization cannot discover relevant data sets. We are developing Usagi, a search engine for discovering data sets within an enterprise. Usagi is already fielded within Recruit Holdings and it will soon be available in open-source.
